The Peruvian Commission for the promotion of exports and Tourism (PromPerú) announced today that the 2019 Expoamazonic business conference, which will be held today, August 16, would generate commercial commitments for more than $ 5 million.
In this activity, more than 35 foreign entrepreneurs will hold meetings with around 100 exporters of coffee, cocoa, paiche and other biodiversity and timber products.
“Expoamazónica is the most important business platform to promote our productive and service potential of the Amazon regions to the national and international market,” said Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Edgar Vásquez.
“It is also hoped to strengthen, consolidate and diversify SMEs ‘ exports in their internationalization process with a higher value-added offer,” he added.
On the other hand, the executive president of PromPerú, Luis Torres, pointed out that it is important to specify that the almost 100 producers and exporters that will arrive in this new edition of Expoamazonica come from Ucayali, San Martín, Huánuco, Madre de Dios, Amazonas and Loreto, while the buyers will arrive from the various markets of Europe, the United States and Asia.
The business platform that is realized ?August 15th to 18th?, seeks to promote the exportable supply of goods and services from the Amazon regions to the national and international market, as well as to promote tourism, gastronomy and culture.????
In addition to the export and tourism business wheels promoted by Promperu, there will be an exhibition of products and services, the Investment Forum, the roadshow of promotion and investments, the Sustainable Amazon Forum, the exhibition of emblematic restaurants, demo cocina, among others.
This will be an opportunity for the Loreto region to show the best of its exportable offer, constituted by timber, fruit and aquaculture products, where the paiche stands out, as emblem of the ninth edition of this fair.
Expoamazonic 2019 is organized by the Regional Government of Loreto with the support of the ministries of Foreign Trade and tourism, agriculture and Irrigation and Promperu.
This business platform is an initiative that was born in 2011. Throughout its eight editions, businesses have totaled nearly 240 million soles.
The exports of the macro-region of Amazonas, Loreto, San Martín and Ucayali totaled 218 million dollars in 2018, which showed an increase of 25.2% compared to the previous year. This increase is mainly due to the larger shipments registered by the Loreto region.
